Meeting 3129 was a vocational visit to the Salvation Army and members and guests enjoyed Dinner and a tour.
The evening was a relaxed evening with members and guests enjoying a wonderful meal prepared by Nicole and Volunteers from the Salvation Army.
Darren opened by speaking about the previous day's Hope Cup. The Riverside All-stars won for the first time this year. While Darren hasn’t had time to complete the final figures, he is hopeful that they will hit the $35,000 mark.
It is estimated that between 400-600 people came along to support the day.
Darren then gave a very brief overview of the activities available at Riverside and after dinner members and guests were invited to tour the wonderful Purruna Community Garden which includes a Bush Tucker and Kitchen Garden. The café uses the produce from the garden in their meals, ensuring not just cost effectiveness but wonderfully fresh ingredients.
At the conclusion of his presentation Pres Anthony thanked Darren and his volunteers and presented him with the traditional thank you- A certificate stating a donation had been made in his name to vaccinate 45 children against Polio.
Pres Anthony then closed meeting 3129 with the four way test.
