PP Barry Stewart introduced the chair for the evening- Margaret Leversedge who welcomed members and guests before introducing members who had messages to come forward.

Village Fair November 4th prep well underway. Everyone needs to be on deck to help, there will be jobs for all abilities.

Lance Hatcher has compiled History of the Rotary Club of Gawler book. Please borrow read and return the following week. It is an excellent reference.
Don’t forget to email john with preferences/views for club partnerships -geographically Gawler Light or Barossa is obvious, however we can pair with other clubs with similar interests such as service. We have to decide by October 28th.
Fellowship followed before PP Barry conducted the sergeant session. Wheel spin winners were Angela, Kathy and Kim. Barry told everyone that when he arrived Ian sanders was appeared to be looking for something on the ground. When Barry asked, he said he had lost his hearing aid battery. Brian joined them but it being so small it couldn’t be seen. Ian then said it didn’t matter it was an old one anyway! Members and guests were then once again entertained with Facebook Funnies and Bunyip Roundup. Barry asked Brian to report about his trip from the recent awards ceremony in the police car.
President John then thanked everyone for attending, reminded everyone that next week was a public holiday and closed meeting 3177.
who after thanking everyone for their attendance, closed the meeting with the Four Way Test.
Peace Pole Project
On Friday 22nd September PP Brian Burt PP Kathy Heinrich and President John Lyons attended the unveiling of Peace Pole number 102 at Gawler Primary School. School Principal Celeste Matthews and staff members made everyone feel very welcome.
The unveiling took place at an outdoors full school assembly in beautiful sunshine with a good number of parents in attendance.
Kathy read the Peace Message which was received with respect by the wonderful group of well behaved children, many of whom read their own thoughts and messages.
Celeste and the staff are very enthusiastic about this project and Celeste accepted Brians offer to provide sun flower seeds to plant near the pole and for children to take home and plant in their own gardens if they wish.
