Notes from members and directors:
PE Kyle: Kyle will be attending President Elect training on March 29 and the District Assembly on 30th at the Observatory in Hackney. Michael Jacob will attend on Sunday as well.
PP Mike Williams reminder 29th March for relay for life set up and 30th pull down of Marquees. Air show is the following week and we need as many hands on deck as possible. People will be given specific roles to ensure smooth running of the day.  We will be selling Steak Sandwiches and hotdogs. Air cadets will be helping with service at the front.  Please make sure you fill in the online booking form. The Air show organisers have provided us with 8 passes, but we will need to purchase the rest.
Pres Anthony Had a meeting with Gawler Council, Show society and other service clubs re show parking. Feels it was a positive result which should mean an increase in funds for each group.
After Dinner President Anthony introduced Barry for his sergeant session.
Wheel winners were Deb, Barry and Mark S. Pres Anthony almost convinced Barry he had the wrong number after Anthony swapped washers with his own!
After PP Barry’s entertaining Sergeant session. Pres Anthony invited PP Mark Smeaton to present an update of some of the ongoing service projects.
  • BBQ trailer- looking fabulous, has been in Smithfield crash repairs for a spray paint. It will not be ready for the airshow unfortunately however it won’t be long-Please see photo’s below for progress.
  • Black Ops garage- this has been very challenging due to council placing 19 conditions on the plan, however they have all been addressed and removed so building can now proceed. The area will be known as the ABC precinct occupied by -Apex, Black ops and the Gawler Car club. The land is still owned by the SES but this area has been leased.
  • Salvation Army Freezer- Mark has been advised that the Salvation Army have raised the $15,000 to go with Gawler Rotary donation of $10,000. This can now proceed with the help of APS Panel systems who are supplying the structure for $9800 and Refrigeration Systems supplied by ACER air for $14,900. Mark is still in negotiations with a company re electrical work.
Everyone agreed that each of these projects have been large but worthwhile and thanked Mark for his ongoing work behind the scenes.
In closing Pres Anthony thanked everyone for their participation in the meeting and after reminding everyone to please fill in the online survey re the air show and if you can commit at all please do. He then asked members to join him in the Four way test and asked board members to please stay for a short meeting afterwards.
