Meeting Report 3155 April 17th 2023

Sergeant Barry Stewart introduced Chair for the evening PP Kim who opened meeting 3155 and welcomed members and guest Carol Stewart.
Kim then called for Rotarians who wished to have a spot to come forward.
PP Mike Williams-Almoner
- Thanked everyone for their thoughts and well wishes for the recent passing of Deb’s mum.
- Informed members that Dr Bruce has been confirmed to have Covid today.
- PE John Lyons is having lingering problems from his accident and not doing too well lately.
Angela Moore
- We have been asked to provide a sausage sizzle at the opening of the new Basketball courts on Saturday morning. As it is a youth event Steve B suggested that it was passed to the Youth Committee. No idea of numbers but a small team will be needed. Colin Bazeley has already volunteered to collect the trailer on Saturday. Mike W and Ron will organise and pack the trailer on Friday ready for collection. Angela took names of willing volunteers.
After a break to enjoy our meal PP Steve Barilla presented the wash up from the air show
- A huge thank you to everyone both those who helped on the day but also those who couldn’t make it on Sunday but helped in the lead up. A very special thank you though to pp Ron, pp Mike W, Deb, Mark S for their help setting up on Saturday afternoon. Anthony for arranging the cool room. Also Madison Williams who was like a ‘machine’ on the eftpos machine and was very proficient at multitasking.
- We received lots of positive comments re the quick service and organisation.
- The docket system worked extremely well,
- The new signs looked great and lots of people were observed checking them so they knew what was available.
- Having team leaders (chiefs) made it easier for people to know what they should be doing.
- Around 6,000 people visited the airshow.
- There were more food vendors than we expected which was good but the negative was there were 2 other vendors selling hot dogs.
- We decided to drop the price of drinks due to the huge variance of prices and vendors on either side selling drinks cheaper.
- The only food we had left was cheese, mike will bring next week for Rotarians to purchase because it will not last until the next event.
- The general consensus was it was a fabulous day and also very profitable for the club.
President Kathy thanked Steve for his huge effort in the lead up and over the weekend.
Next week is committee and board meeting. Kathy then asked members to join in the four way test and closed meeting 3155.
