Meeting 3230 was The Annual General meeting. PP Lance Hatcher once again officiated. Lance explained that we have the AGM in November but the Rotary year starts the following year because we are incorporated and as part of the constitution we need to have office bearers in elected so they can be mentored and prepared before they take up their positions in July.
PP Mike Williams was newly elected to the board to work alongside PP Steve Barilla. All nominated board members were elected unopposed.
PP Kathy- Treasurer; Michael Jacob -Secretary; Kyle Smith -President; Angela Moore-President elect; Anthony Barilla- Immediate past president. PP Mark Smeaton -Director. During the meeting the budget was also presented by PP Kathy and accepted.
On a lighter note, sergeant Barry presented his usual Bunyip roundup and wheelspin. Winners were PP Barry, PP John and PP Mark.
Beth reminded members that she was still waiting on some WWCC’s and these were needed for anyone involved in the street parade.
PP Steve all good to go in regard to street parade, Thanks to PP Mike and Deb for organising the float and Ahrens for lending us the truck. APEX carols are on the 7th of Dec, we are once again supplying and erecting shelters. They have also asked if we can hold a catering stall. Unfortunately, we could not get enough volunteers for the evening, so we had to decline. A small group will meet to erect the shelters however we still don’t have enough to pull them down.
PP Mike Holding a sausage sizzle at Two wells Primary school on the 11th December. Will need a small group to assist. Will only be selling sausages for an hour. This continues our partnership with the school.
In his next step of his treatment Geoff Bennier will undergo 20 days of Radiation. Please keep Geoff and his family in your thoughts.
Meeting 3231
Was very light on regarding attendance, although it was lovely to have a prospective member Lynn Hill attend. The meeting was a short one with most members moving to the Rotary Shed after dinner to unpack the trailer after Saturday’s Street parade and repack for the carols.
Winners for the wheel this week were Kyle, Rebecca and Lyn.
PP Mike Williams-Almoner Geoff started his radiation treatment today. Dr Bruce is feeling much better but not quite up to attending the meeting tonight.
Reminder: 16th November is last week to bring gifts for Salvation Army. Do not wrap, donations of sticky tape and wrapping paper also greatly appreciated. Gifts for all children 0-15 accepted but 12-15 years are the ones they struggle the most to fill.
PE Kyle closed the meeting with the Four -Way test.
